What’s going on in Fredericksburg Texas and the Hill Country on the weekend of April 5?  The Texas Hill Country Wineries “Wine and Wildflower Trail” will begin on 4/5/13 and end on 4/14/13.  The Wildflower Celebration over at Wildseed Farms will be in full swing.  Also, over in Boerne, the are hosting the 8th Annual Wild West Day.  Then, on Sunday April 7, on your way out of town, visit Messina Hoff winery for Wine and Chocolate pairing.

Today was a busy day at the Full Moon Inn.  We celebrated Christmas with all the kids and baked a ham.  We got so busy with the children, that we only cooked the ham!  No side dishes.  Oh well, it was still a great day.  Merry Christmas!

We get calls daily asking if we are serving dinner on Christmas Day.  Unfortunately, with 8 month old twins, and 5 other children we are just too busy to cook and have decided to have some take and bake pizza on hand….but if you want a nice meal on Christmas Eve we can recommend several restaurants.

We love Navajo Grill.  Matt describes it as Southwest Cajun Fusion.  The price point is at the top of the food chain but you won’t be disappointed.  Ever.  If the crab caked are on the menu, order them, they are divine.  Mixed drinks are also delish.

I love Mamacita’s for two reason.  The service is outstanding AND the Margaritas are the best in the business.  They also have Cheescake Factory and Starbuck’s in the same building.  Can you imagine great mexican food, cheescake and Starbucks in the same place?  Heaven.  I always order the Avamama (not on the menu).  It’s a tasty deep fried avocado topped with a mexican tomato sauce and melted cheese.  YUM!

Great sports bar!  German – American food for all. I’ve never actually been here so I can’t really give my opinion, but Matt was enthusiastic!

The only restaurant open on Christmas Day is Denny’s located at 1035 S. Adams in Fredericksburg.  They are open 24 hours.  Even though it’s not considered gourmet food, your family will be together and that’s what matters most.  Let’s face it, it’s difficult to mess up pancakes.
